Small ministries rarely fail for lack of heart. They fail because the practical work is scattered: gifts in a spreadsheet, prayers in a group chat, scripture plans in someone's head, and the outreach follow-up in a third tool nobody maintains.

You do not need a full church-management suite to get honest about the week. You need a few lists that stay current, and a clear decision about what does not belong in them.

Three lists worth keeping

  • Giving by fund. Record what came in and which fund it serves. The goal is stewardship you can review together, not a replacement for your accountant.
  • A prayer wall. Name the request, mark it open, answered or archived. A named request gets prayed. A vague "pray for the ministry" rarely does.
  • Scripture with a status. Planned, reading, completed. A plan you can see beats a resolution you restate every January.
