๐ฆYour Tasks, Notes and Budget Should Leave With You
By Daniel Ziedins (danielziedins.com)
How TaskSimply export works: a JSON backup, task and budget CSV files, and notes as Markdown, downloaded in the browser by Daniel Ziedins.
A productivity app that will not give your work back is renting you your own memory. TaskSimply is built the other way. From Settings, open Your data and download a copy whenever you want. There is no request form and no waiting period.
What you can take
- Everything (JSON). A backup of the workspace you are in: tasks, notes, budget, shopping, team projects and docs, plus family and ministry records when those tables are part of the workspace.
- Tasks (CSV). Title, status, list, priority, due date and the rest of the task fields, ready for Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.
- Budget (CSV). Income and expenses by category. Expenses are stored as negative amounts so a simple sum is the net.
- Notes (Markdown). Every note as portable text, with the title, tags and a plain-text version of the body.
Where the export runs
The download happens in your browser. TaskSimply reads only the records your signed-in account can already see. If a table is missing from this workspace, that part is skipped and named in the confirmation instead of failing the whole backup. Nothing is sent to a separate export service.
Keep a copy before a big cleanup, before you share a workspace more widely, or simply because you like knowing the door opens outward. The weekly rhythm still lives in the app โ see the ten-minute weekly review โ but the record of that work is yours.
